A wildflower meadow only stays flower-rich with the right management. If it is cut at the wrong time, or the cuttings are left to rot down, grasses and nettles quickly take over.
We provide practical, ecologically-sound meadow management across Surrey, with a clear seasonal plan that protects wildlife and keeps your meadow improving year after year.
Our Wildflower Meadow Management service keeps your meadow flower-rich, resilient, and wildlife-friendly year after year. We create a clear seasonal plan based on your site conditions, then carry out the key practical work that makes the difference: correctly timed cuts, removal of arisings to reduce soil fertility, and targeted control of invasive weeds and scrub.
Whether you’re managing an established species-rich meadow or improving rough grassland, we help you build diversity, support pollinators, and maintain a meadow that looks good and functions properly.
Visit us today to find out how we can help you with your wildflower meadow.
David and the team will be happy to discuss your current project and how we can help you sustain natural meadows.

EXCELLENTBased on 2 reviews Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Posted on Miles GilderDavid attended our wild flower meadow to cut and collect at the end of this and last season. Although our job was relatively straightforward (for David), the advice, care and attention that David gave us during his time on site clearly showed his wealth of experience in both conversation and machinery matters. Generally speaking he was punctual, friendly, very hard working and did a great job with our meadow. We enjoyed him being onsite and look forward to having him back soon!Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Posted on Gemma PayneWe are so pleased with the work David did on our back garden. We wanted to move away from a traditional lawn and create a space that was more wildlife-friendly and beautiful, and the wildflower meadow design has exceeded our expectations. The colors are vibrant, and the garden is constantly buzzing with life. The process from design to implementation was seamless, and their knowledge of the right plant mix for our space was invaluable. It's now a peaceful haven we love to spend time in. Thank you!
Every meadow is different, but a common approach follows the rhythm of the seasons — working with the land rather than against it.
Where heavy thatch has built up, a light cut helps open the meadow to light at the start of the growing season. Edge control and scrub checks are carried out at this stage to maintain clear boundaries and prevent encroachment.
The principal cut takes place after flowering and seed set, allowing wildflowers to complete their cycle. Cut material is left briefly on the surface to drop seed before removal — reducing soil fertility over time, which discourages coarse grasses and favours wildflower diversity.
A second cut can be valuable on fertile sites or where grass growth is vigorous. Depending on ground conditions, some sites also benefit from controlled aftermath grazing, which mimics traditional management and helps consolidate the seed bed for the following year.
